Day 2  - Monday, June 19, 2012

Happy Tuesday All!!

Today we had three new friends join the group: Michelle, Ethan and Emma.  We started off this morning with centers, followed by the Opening Assembly with the whole camp.  The kids enjoyed learning some new songs... ask them about the Bananas Song. :) We also won the EHS Summer Camp MVP award/flag.  The kids were excited. 

After snack recess, we read  Hot-Air Henry the adventures of a cat who flies solo in a hot air balloon.  The kids worked on making there very own hot air balloons in class using tissue paper, yarn and glue.  They were all very creative and each one unique.  

After lunch, we took a few minutes to relax and cool off from the heat, and read The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs.  We then made sure to reapply sunblock before heading out to soccer. Today's soccer lesson was a continuation of yesterday, working on the "push pass" as well as stopping the ball.  They each worked with a partner, and as they became more confident about their kick they increased the distance.  They had tons of fun! 

Here are some pictures of today for your viewing pleasure! The older camp students will be having water day at the park tomorrow (our little ones won't), but they will be having snow cone day!!!
